The NEBOSH National General Certificate is a globally recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. The course covers how health and safety can be effectively managed, the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge.
The course is made up of presentations, question and answer sessions, activities and projects. There are 2 assessments at the end of the course – one written exam and a practical assessment. The practical assessment includes the completion of a general risk assessment carried out at the learner’s workplace. The tutor will support the learner’s knowledge and understanding by classroom and individual discussion.
NEBOSH will issue successful delegates the National General Certificate.
The NEBOSH National General Certificate course covers:
Unit NG1: Management of Health & Safety
- Element 1: Why we should manage health and safety
- Element 2: How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
- Element 3: Managing risk – understanding people and processes
- Element 4: Health and safety monitoring and measuring
Unit NG2: Risk Assessment
- Element 5: Physical and psychological health
- Element 6: Musculoskeletal health
- Element 7: Chemical and biological agents
- Element 8: General workplace issues
- Element 9: Work equipment
- Element 10: Fire
- Element 11: Electricity
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. NEBOSH recommend that delegates have a minimum standard of English, as they must be able to understand and communicate the concepts in the course content, and complete the written exam and practical assessment. Delegates should have a basic knowledge of health and safety, and an understanding of what happens in their workplace. The information you will need to know for the practical assessment and the exams will be covered in the course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are accreditation and examination fees included?
Not if you choose the elearning option – you will need to book your examination separately. Information on how to do this will be provided as part of your course. If you attend our Hybrid course accreditation fees and certification fees are included in the course price.
I have dyslexia, or other needs, is there any support available?

Is lunch provided?
Yes, within the cost of the course there is a buffet lunch, hot and cold drinks and biscuits for those attending in person.
What payment plan options are available?
If you are attending our Hybrid course and would prefer to split the payment for this course you can pay in 2 or 3 instalments, as long as the final payment is made before you take the exam. Please call our admin team who can set this up for you. Please note there is an additional admin fee of £50 added to the first instalment for this option.

What if I do not pass the exam?
